Can You Imagine Gaming on an iPad

Traditional gaming on iPhone never carried over too well.  The reason being that a truly submersive gaming requires a high level of control input (pulling of a button and directional-pad combination, hot-keyeing items, etc). And, even though some developers were able to design a traditional game pad on top of main game canvas, the iPhone screen is not entirely forgiving when it comes to space; often times my fingers would slip off the button placement or having my fat fingers obscure some important part of the game screen.

The one true benfit the iPad holds for gaming is space, with a 9.5 (diagnol) screen at 1024-by-768 resultion, there is plenty to pack into a canvas.  Developers can appropriate a certain space for control input and still have a big enough space to play around it.  I've started to play around with the latest SDK update and perhaps motivate myself to building that 2-D fighter I've had in mind.
